Traditional funerals are changing, due to many factors. Some of it may be related to the state of the economy, environmental concerns, or the fast-paced lives and geographic distance between family members so common in the western world.
Many have shifted away from standard “religion” and traditional services (too often delivered by a stranger) to honor the dead, and are seeking more meaningful ceremonies and rituals to say goodbye. Families appreciate an opportunity to pray for their loved one and begin the necessary work of mourning together… while also incorporating new authentic ways to celebrate and honor that life. I have performed both traditional and non-traditional funeral services and can help you to create a beautiful tribute. I am available for military services, and have a heart for our veterans.
Ceremonies for children (and parents) who have experienced losses due to crime, abortion, miscarriage, or stillbirth can find memorial ceremonies of reconciliation very therapeutic. In a culture that many times does not allow proper mourning and sorrow to be expressed in cases where children die, it is one of my most important ministries to help mothers and fathers start the healing process.
